Hi Sam

A quick e-mail to say how wonderful a trip we have just had to France. The weather was fantastic- clear crisp mornings, perfect for walking, with warm afternoons, perfect for relaxing! We must compliment you on the farmhouse, no detail has been overlooked. It was so well equipped, we wanted for nothing. We do travel quite a bit and have to say that this was the very best self catering accommodation that we have stayed in. We are impressed at how the farmhouse has been renovated so sympathetically - can't wait to see what you do with the barn!! The location of the farmhouse is excellent, with both the coast and the Pyrennes short drives away. For one of us it was a first trip to France, what a wonderful introduction! We will be recommending your farmhouse to friends and family!! Thank you so much for the wine and the baguette, both welcome after a long trip from Cheshire.
Regards,

Anna

Hi Sam

What a lovely farmhouse you have. We absolutely enjoyed the 2 weeks we were there. We were lucky because Navarrenx had their 4 day festival whilst we were at Gurs and the firework display was brilliant. We spent a lot of time in Navarrenx at the Piscine and went to Artouste, twice! The train journey into the mountains was great and we saw some Marmots. On the journey back home we stayed at L'Abbey in Beaugancy. What a wonderful place this was. Would definitely come to Gurs again - hopefully next year and would like to stay again at the farmhouse, will contact you later in the year.

Dear Sam,

Thanks, we had a wonderful holiday and definitely the Farmhouse was our favourite place - things we liked were:

The personal touches, the notes from yourself and Alison, all the info on hand seemed to have your voice and so when we left we felt that we wanted to say goodbye to you but you weren't there!
The toys for the kids - thanks a million.
The DVDs for me and hubby.
The fact that the kitchen was very well thought through and equipped.
We had a truly wonderful dinner at L'hopital St Blaise.
The petite train d'artouste was very memorable.
We loved the markets in Navarrenx.
The kids loved the walks around Gurs and the little playground.
We had a couple of cool drizzly days, the perfect antidote for families coming from summer in the desert!

Hi Sam,

We all had a great time - the house was lovely, and perfectly positioned for all our activities. L'etape was hard, hot and very long, but it was well organised (for the French!) though there were 8000 people squeezed onto Marie Blanque, so it was a little congested. The week of cycling that followed was wonderful. Sunshine and long hills. Thanks for the farmhouse - great fun. I would certainly like to return there, and will be in touch.
Best wishes,

Adam

Hi Sam,

Thanks for your email. We had a really good time, despite the weather! Went skiing, as you know, horseriding (twice, in Goes - v good teacher called Stephane who speaks good English and is very nice with kids 15 euros per hour each). Visited caves (Les Grottes de Betharram) St Jean de Luz, Lourdes, swimming pool in Oloron. The kids loved the park down the road from the farmhouse. Had one meal at Hotel de Commerce and a family one at La Claverie which was fantastic. V friendly locals everywhere. I loved the area and will possibly come back in the summer with my girlfriend Sue, without the children, for a proper explore as I wasn't for obvious reasons able to do a huge amount this time. Would like to have a closer look at Sauveterre and Salies de Bearn.
Many thanks again,

Stephen
